Here's Steve's first reaction and rough review.
These “Bird” scooters can be found all over the resort of Caleta de Fuste and are available to ride through a phone app.
In short, the idea is great but the scooters probably need to be more rugged to cope with the less-than-perfect road surfaces around the resort! There are scooter hire companies in town offering more robust looking machines but I haven’t tested these. Let me know if you would like me to!

Probably could have covered more distance for the price but I spent a few minutes stationary while I changed camera angles. 20¢ per minute charge still applied because I didn’t end the ride.
TAKE YOUR TIME. BE CONSIDERATE TOWARDS PEDESTRIANS. OBSERVE THE RULES. ALWAYS WEAR A HELMET.
